NORTH SACO - Sylvia L. (Fay) Haley, 80, of Saco, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016.
She was born Aug. 18, 1935, and raised in Waterboro, the daughter of F. Robert and Louise Fay. She was a graduate of Hollis High School Class of 1954, and attended adult education for bookkeeping in 1974.
On Sept. 3, 1955, she married John C. Haley and moved to Saco.
Sylvia was a wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, going to fairs and attending her grandchildren's sporting events with her husband, Jack.
Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and being a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Hollis.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, John (Jack) Haley Sr.; two sons, John Jr. and Joey Haley; and her two brothers, Robert and Fredrick Fay.
She is survived by: her daughter, Sonya and her husband John Booth; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Haley; two sisters-in-law, Linda Haley and Judith Fay; grandchildren Daryl LaBelle, who lived with and took care of her, Travis and Amanda LaBelle, Richard C. LaBelle Jr. and Nicholas LaBelle, John III and Kathleen Haley, Donna, Amanda and Jason Haley, Michael Henderson and Matthew Pelkey; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating her life will be held at noon on Feb. 27 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 80 Pleasant Hill Road, Hollis.
