Telford, Andrew Robert "Andy" Died at home with his family at the age of 23. Andy was born on June 22, 1987, in Brookfield to Gordon and Susan Telford. He graduated from Kettle Moraine High School in 2007, where he participated in wrestling and Best Buddies and was an avid fan of Laser sports. Andy was an Eagle Scout and a member of Boy Scout Troop 156 in Elm Grove. He was elected to the Order of the Arrow by his fellow scouts. He attended the 2001 National Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia and the 2006 Boy Scout National Order of the Arrow Conference in Michigan with his Dad. He was a member of the Sussex 4-H Club and received many ribbons and awards for his railroad modeling projects, horsemanship, sewing, quilting, needle point, basketry, rabbit showing, and rocketry. His model of Splash Mountain, a Disney World ride, won a top award at the 2008 Trainfest Show. Andy was an avid hiker, canoeist, swimmer, snowshoer, cyclist, camper, and horse back rider. He collected Disney videos and spent many happy hours watching his favorites. He was a wiz at the computer and loved surfing the net. Andy was a talented artist who worked in many media and had his work displayed at the Milwaukee County Art Museum. This past year he was a cast member in the annual ACAP Player's production, The Invention Convention. He was a participant at ACAP (Adaptive Community Approach Program) and Art Links in Waukesha and will be missed tremendously by the clients and staff. Andy was deeply loved by his parents, Susan and Gordon, his sister, Elizabeth, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and his dogs, cats, and horses. Andy touched many people during his lifetime and his family would like to thank everyone who loved and appreciated him. He was a remarkable young man who faced the challenges of autism with a courage and determination that inspired all who knew him. Dear Dr. Telford, you saved Tom Winter's life back in 1996 with an ileal pouch surgery. Thanks to your expertise (and your advocacy for Tom), he is still well today. You have a treasured place in our minds because of this. From time to time we've heard about your family through Andy's accomplishments. Our son, Luke, (who was only two when we came to you in desperate need), has autism, too. Our most heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. From, Amy, Tom, Luke and Grace Winter

Dear Sue, Gordon & Elizabeth,
It's been so many years since we've actually seen each other, but I remember at one of our Davis reunions in Central Park Andy hanging onto his Daddy's leg and being very shy about meeting us. He was so cute. Over the years you shared his accomplishments and how proud you were of him and, of course, how much you loved him. So, my heart broke for you when Anne called. Unfortunately, grief is the price we pay for love. It's so unfair. Thinking of you with love in this difficult time.

Mr. and Mrs. Telford and Elizabeth. Please accept my condolences. I am deeply saddened by your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Andy was a joy to have in my 7th grade science class at PPMS. He touched my life in ways that still impact me today. I know that I am a better teacher, a more compassionate teacher, from my experience with Andy. He taught me to focus on the word ABLE found in the label of every disABLEd student. For this gift I am eternally grateful. Thank you for the privilege of knowing your son and brother.
God Bless the Telford Family,

Susan Kratz
