Beverly Bumby Geist

Geist, Beverly Bumby Of River Hills. Died at home Thursday, June 2, 2011. She was born in September 7, 1933, to J. Harold and Isabelle Bumby. On July 18, 1964, she married Jack Emil Geist. Beverly lived in Ripon, Milwaukee and Green Lake. She attended Rollins College in Florida then transferred and graduated from UW-Madison. For many years she was an elementary school teacher. She was an avid reader, loved doing needle point and working in her herb garden. She was also politically active and in her younger years enjoyed sailing. Surviving Beverly is her husband, Jack; children, Peter Geist and Lynn (Mark) Taylor; grandchildren: Harrison, Tucker, Palmer, and Ellery; and her sister, Mary Jane Bumby of Green Lake; nephews Jim Bumby, Harold (Patricia) Bumby, A.J. (Robin) Bumby and Charles Bumby. Beverly is also survived by three great-nieces, seven great-nephews, two great-great-nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce and Adain Bumby. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 8, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Feerick Funeral Home. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held in Ripon, WI. Memorials in Beverly's name can be made to the charity of your choice.
