Carole Deffner Obituary

Deffner , Carole (Nee Rosner) Of Dousman, WI, formerly of Glendale, WI. The angels carried Carole to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Sr. and Rosalie Rosner; a sister, Ruth Bruss; and Godmother, Aunt Mary Arbeiter. Carole was the faithful and loving wife of Otto for 44 years and cherished mother of Michael (Kristen) Deffner and Jennifer (Michael) Johnston. She was the loving "Grammy" of Lillian and Susan Johnston and dearest sister of Robert (Elaine) Rosner. She is further survived by loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin (Betty) Deffner, Norman (Jan) Deffner, Marvin (Joanne) Deffner, Roger (Louda) Deffner and Elaine (Thomas) Disch; cousins, Larry Arbeiter, Bob (Jane) Arbeiter, Dick (Maryann) Arbeiter, Shirley Yarnig, Mary (Paul) Yarnig-Wassenberg and Howard (Karen) Branding; Godchildren, Patricia Trevisan, Anthony Rosner, Tricia Deffner-Valley and David Deffner. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, close friends Barbara Cybela, Shirley Ragsdale, Lois Roller, Dorothy Filber, and many more relatives, friends and acquaintances. Carole enjoyed family gatherings, getting together with friends, gardening, crossword puzzles and sudoku. Carole began her professional career in the accounting department at Harley-Davidson, taught at MATC, and completed her career as a revenue agent for the Internal Revenue Service. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 210 E. Pleasant Street, Oconomowoc, WI. Service will be at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, WI, on Sunday, September 20, 2009, with visitation from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, in the Restlawn Chapel. Service will be held at 1:00 PM. Memorials in Carole's name to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Memorial Endowment Fund, 210 E. Pleasant Street, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, would be appreciated.
