Christian Donald LaBudde

Christian Donald LaBudde, son of Roy and Thea, was born on March 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI. Donald attended Whitefish Bay schools and graduated from Whitefish Bay High School in 1944. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army and later attended the University of Chicago where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and earned highest honors graduating Summa Cum Laude. He continued his studies and received his PhD in mathematics and computer science. Donald was nationally recognized in the field of mathematics and worked on a classified defense project at Argonne National Laboratories. He held professorships at New York University, Wayne State University in Michigan, and Northeastern University in Illinois from which he retired in 1991. He was a beloved teacher and mentor to his many students who gave heartfelt tributes at his retirement celebration.

Donald is survived by his brother, Roy (Anne) LaBudde, and his sister, Thea (William) Brunsell, and by nieces and nephews, Peter (Barbara) LaBudde, Michael (Frances) LaBudde, Jackson (Susan) LaBudde, Susan (Brian Akers) LaBudde, Sarah (James) Wolffe, Ann Brunsell, Paul (Maribeth) Brunsell, and 10 grandnieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held for Don on Sunday, November 27 at 2:00 at St. John's on the Lake, 1840 N. Prospect Ave. in Milwaukee. Interment was private at Forest Home Cemetery. The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Vitas Hospice Care and St. John's staff for the loving care given to Don.

Don was a beloved brother and a greatly loved uncle, cherished for his generosity and sense of humor. No family gathering was complete without him and the joy he brought. Don was gracious in friendship and a steadfast volunteer. Kindness was his lifestyle.

His memory is a blessing

to his family and friends.
