Christopher J. Odya

1949 - 2017

Odya, Christopher J. Christopher "Chris" J. Odya went to be in God's loving arms on August 8, 2017. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 22, 1949 to Josephine A. and Victor W. Odya. He was preceded in death by his first wife Susan (nee Gierl) with whom they had one son. He later moved to Sun City, Arizona to be closer to his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. He left behind many loving family members in both Wisconsin and Arizona, among those were his best friend and final soul mate, wife Sharon Odya (Nee Hubbell), dear son Scott (Lisa) and adored grandchildren Kali, Connor, and Parker. He is the beloved brother of Daniel (Linda), Ann Marie Fischer-Gleysteen (John), Colette Odya Smith (Richard), Mark (Vanessa Cardinal), Elizabeth "Betsy", Margaret and Paul (Atsuko). Chris will be remembered by his many relatives and friends, including "The 5 Horsemen" for his kind and loving spirit, generosity and dedication to his family. He was involved in many activities to keep him busy, including his membership in the Zymurgy Club, woodworking, and volunteering to help the many people in his life. A special thank you to the staff at Infinity Hospice and Serenity House of Phoenix for the care they provided. Memorial Service to be held at St. Therese, 9525 W. Bluemound Rd. Milwaukee, WI on Friday, September 15, 2017. Visitation will be at 3:00 P.M. with service to follow at 4:00 P.M. Private interment at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to St. Therese.
