Colette Curran Obituary

Curran, Colette S. passed away on May 26, 2008, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy illness. The youngest child of Hannock T. and Pearl H. (nee Elmer) Saether, Colette was raised in Blanchardville, Wisconsin, graduated from Mount Mary College and taught high school until her marriage to Thomas J. Curran, later Hon. Thomas J. Curran, of the U.S. District Court in Milwaukee. She is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Hon. Thomas J. Curran, and by six children Janet M. (Dr. Robert) Margolis of Arden Hills, Minnesota; William T. (Joelle) Curran of Mauston; Dr. Mark J. (Mary) Curran, Portage; James M. (Marla) Curran, Green Bay; Catherine C. (John) Orton, Mauston; Paul S. (Gail Carlson) Curran of Mauston; and sixteen grandchildren. Colette, a truly gracious lady, maintained a beautiful, genteel exterior, which was matched only by her strength of Faith, character, and keen intellect. Her prayerful presence glows in the hearts of her husband, children and grandchildren, now and always. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Rex T. Saether, her sister Jocelyn Elmer, and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mauston, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at Crandall Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 30, 2008, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church, prior to the Mass. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Mauston, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Colette's name to St. Patrick Church, 401 Mansion Street, Mauston, WI 53948, Mount Mary College, 2900 N. Menomonee River Parkway, Milwaukee, WI 53222-4597 or Marquette University Law School, P.O. Box 1881, Milwaukee, WI 53201.
