I just learned of Dan's passing. He was a generous and good friend for many years. I've attached a photo taken of us at Dan's hunting club after a bird shoot. One of my favorite memories. My condolences to all of his family.

I am so very sorry to hear about Dan. For all the years I babysat Brett and Ali, Dan always would ask what I was saving for and he would give me a little extra money at times. He truly was a loving and generous man. My deepest condolences to all the family May the many happy memories comfort you during this difficult time. Love and prayers, Jennifer Close-Siemann

I am very sad to hear of Dan's passing. Like Todd Bitzer and many of us, Dan got me into this business in 1989. More importantly, he influenced an entire generation of sales people in our business and was a legend in the business. Easy smile, generous disposition, positive attitude, patient heart, business leader, family man are only some of the wonderful attributes Dan had. He was really a relationship guy but with the intelligence and EQ to read his audience and deliver what they needed. Look at all the PFAMCO alumni that have had successful careers and Dan would be at the top of getting them in the business and influencing their future success. A few years ago, we were at the LCG Associates Holiday Party in Atlanta and had a small reunion( Deter, Devore, Bitzer, Skillman, Clark). I will always remember that moment and how happy he was smiling and holding court! May you rest in peace!

I will be forever grateful to my friend Dan Deter for giving me my start in the business. When others said no, Dan took the timed, took a risk, and help a young kid from Georgia launch his career. No words can express my sadness at learning of Dan's passing. Way too soon my friend! Thank you for everything that you did for me - You will be missed by many in our business.

It's times like this when you wish 37 yrs hadn't gone by since you saw your friend or 5 yrs since we talked on the phone. When Dan and i were 17, 18 and 19 yrs old we were connected at the hip, we did everything together. We had our enduro motorcycles we rode together, same group of friends from church, we shared our lives together. RIP my friend, my prayers are with you and your family. We traveled different paths as adults but I always was thinking about you. So many "GREAT" memories - Murph

Jeff and I would like to extend our condolences to the family. We have enjoyed numerous social events with Dan, concluding with last summer's pontoon ride with John, Shelly and Dan. Although we have only known Dan a brief time we can say that we knew him to be: generous, fun-loving, sincere with a kind and caring heart. We will miss him.
God bless,
Jeff and Debbie Bird

Dan was always nice to me and allowed me to launch my boat from his property. He was one of the nice guys at the Lake. Too young to leave us.

You'll be sadly missed, but always remembered with a smile. We loved you for your energy and your generosity of spirit. I was cold once when we were visiting, and you gave me one of your favorite sweaters to wear. When I tried to give it back, you refused. I took it home and wore it for years. I thought of you every time I put it on. Enough said.
