Darlene Bigelow Obituary

Bigelow,Darlene Found peace on Sept. 28, 2009, in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Preceded in death by her husband Jerry. Survived by her sister Lucille Carstensen, of Mesquite, NV; brothers Dale Spreen, of Spring Branch, TX and Neal Spreen, of Medford, WI. Also survived by nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Darlene was a bright and articulate business woman who had great compassion for all her clients and associates. It was through her encouragement and support that made her so beloved by her dear Park Avenue family. Darlene was the owner of many successful salons for over 50 years. Among them Park Avenue of Mequon for the last 28. Her generosity and kind-heartedness was un-surpassed. She was very much cherished and loved and will be dearly missed. To the clientele of Park Avenue, thank you for your loyalty throughout the years. Please be assured that the good service and courtesy that you have been accustomed to will continue with Darlene's wishes. DARLENE'S LEGACY WILL LIVE ON A celebration of Darlene's life will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI, on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009. Visitation 1PM - 3PM. Service at 3PM. She was always known as "Aunt Darlene" to all the children she knew. It is fitting that all memorials should be sent to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.www.northshorefuneral.com

Darlene was the best friend I ever had. She was my mentor and my hero. The best 21 years of my life were the years I spent close to her. Her reassurance gave me self confidence and self worth. My children adored her, and my husband, Walter, was very fond of her. Darlene had a heart of gold! I will always love you and miss you...Dar.

To Dar's sister and brothers, I send my condolences, to Dar's "girls" my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. You all are the reason she was such a wonderful boss. She will be remembered by me as such a dedicated, caring and very respected business woman and I, with pleasure, had the opportunity to work for Dar. Keep making her proud. Love, Sue Jones
