David Kempfer Obituary

Kempfer, David Roger Age 80, died peacefully July 10, 2015, surrounded by family. An informal celebration of life will be at 4 PM - 8 PM Tuesday, July 14, 20154 at The Main Mill, located on the corner of Main and Mill Streets in Menomonee Falls. His ashes will be scattered at a later date. Dave was born June 5, 1935, to William and Harriet (Gerretson) Kempfer in Juneau, WI. He is a graduate of Slinger High School. Dave proudly served in the United states Army during the Korean War. He met and married Gloria in 1959. They lived in Menomonee Falls in the early years and moved to Richfield in 1976. Dave worked as an industrial painter for Stolper Industries for 27 years, then for Evers Manfacturing until his retirement. He and Gloria opened Richfield Tap in 1974 and ran the tavern for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with family as well as polka music, dancing, golfing, bowling, stock car racing, vintage cars, deer hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; brothers Carlton Robert, Francis, Gerald, and John; sisters Rose and Beverly. He is survived by his daughters, Penny Regall; Terri (Mike) Tope and Shila(Randy) Staus; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan(Art) Borst, Harriet Thompson, Ardell (Ralph) Mooney; brothers Dick, Bill and Emil. The family sincerely thanks Community Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and Riverview Village for their exceptional care.

I was saddened by the news of the death your Dad. Though I haven't seen my uncle in many years I have some fond memories of him during his stock car racing days. My sincere condolences to his family, Your cousin Clarence Lang
