David Sayas Obituary

Sayas, David A. June 4, 1949 - September 27, 2011. After a courageous battle with cancer, David passed away peacefully at his home. David was born and raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Pius XI High School. He obtained a Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University and was a founding attorney of Sayas, Schmuki, Rondini and Plum, S.C. David was one of two children born to the late Ray and Helen Sayas and was the beloved husband of Judy for over 35 years. David will forever be remembered by his loving sister Christine Santell (Michael), niece Katie, beloved children Robert (Nicole), Jonathan (Megan), and James, as well as his treasured grandchildren David, Daniel, Adriana, Lucia, Samuel, and Elizabeth. He will also be missed by countless other family and friends whom were so blessed to know him. David touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Fri., Oct. 7, 2011, from 1:30-3:00 PM at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 4021 N. 90th St., Milwaukee, followed by the Resurrection Eucharist at 3:00 PM. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, which has been such a support to the Sayas family and who gave such wonderful care to David in his time of need.

Our condolenses to Judy and family. Dave was a long time friend and attorney for our family. I met Dave in l975 when I joined the Wauwatosa Kiwanis Club and was proud to say he was our attorney when I purchased a home and condo. The real estate agent said that he was excited that Dave would be at the closing because he had always wanted to meet Dave in person. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I got more out of talking to Dave for 5 minutes than I did out of talking to another attorney for an hour and a half. His insight and candor will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing - Dave was a well respected member of the real estate industry and will truly be missed. He had a wealth of knowledge - and was always upbeat. All who were lucky enough to experience Dave's mentoring will always remember his famous answer to many situations - "maybe" - he always made us laugh and that is a true gift.

Dave was a great instructor (as many have mentioned) and he was also a great attorney. I always had confidence that my clients were in good hands when they hired Dave. He knew real estate law inside and out. His passing has left a large void in our community and state. My sympathy to your immediate family. May all of your fun memories of Dave bring you comfort at this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. As many others have said, he was a favorite for continuning education--he may have missed his calling as an entertainer as he actually "peformed" his classes rather than teach them....but he made it interesting--and that isn't that easy to do. God bless Dave and the entire family. We shall not see the likes of him again. Sue Causey, Coldwell Banker, Racine, WI
