Mrs. Pichotta & family,
I was surprised and saddened by the news that my brother Chris shared with me about your husband passing. He was a great man and nice Phy. Ed. teacher. I believe that I had the privilege of having him for a semester. I recall him being the strong silent type. He always had a smile for his students. I hope you can get through this time of grieving and please know that both you and your husband made a big difference in the lives of many students and staff at EHS. Love and prayers.

To the Pichotta family. Was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of "Pizza". We lived together for a year at UW-L and he was just a tremendous friend. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of your family.

My sons, Ryan and Alex Buchholz, were coached by Coach Pichotta for the past 4 seasons in golf at NB Eisenhower. They spoke often and fondly of Coach Pichotta. I heard many stories about the "van" rides to golf matches, stopping for food at McDonalds, and the end of the season pizza party. They looked up to him and respected him as a coach. They were not only shocked, but deeply saddened when they heard of his passing. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Kathy Pichotta,
You don't know me because I only knew Don through the handball courts in Milwaukee when I lived here the 1st time in the 70's. We played at the Milwaukee Handball Club on 108th & Burleigh and then at The W. Allis Club. I married and moved away for 34 years and now live in Elm Grove with my wife Sue-Ellen. I was so sorry to read of Don leaving us. I ran into him once a few years ago at the Wauwatosa WAC and we went over some old times and names. He swore he was making a comeback. (weight and cardio) That was the last time I saw him. Although most of us are too old to play the great game anymore, we will always remember the days on the hardwood. I remember Jerry Lewetzke, Frank Milonzo, John Ruffing, Dan Henning, Fred Steffen, Connie Dazer, Bob Bennett, the Kostrivas's (father & son) and on and on. I hope Don is still "rollin em out" up there. I'm glad I knew the Pizza Man.
With deepest sympathy to you and your family. We have lost one of the great ones.

To the Pichottas,
I was so saddened to hear of Don's passing. Ike has lost another icon, a really good person. That picture? That's how those who met Don will remember him. I met him years ago and one does not forget a friendly smiling face. Though I only reunited with him while working the MS basketball games and occasionally seeing him at the HS basketball games, he never held it against me that I worked at NBW. I hope that made you smile. Memories of him will be forever bringing back
smiles.
With sympathy,

Mr. Pichotta,
Being a new student to the district back in the mid 90s, you were very unique as far as Phy Ed. teachers go. You were friendly, approachable, and easy-going. It was something I appreciated as I was very new, very shy, and not very athletic. You and a number of teachers and coaches during your career were amazing and will be dearly missed. My condolences go out to your family, friends, colleagues, and all the other past students who are thinking of you.
