Doris Marie Macon

Macon, Doris Marie (Nee Wenger ) Age 89, passed away peacefully at Laurel Oaks in Glendale, Wisconsin, on December 30, 2014. Doris was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, where she graduated from Lincoln High School, attended nursing school to become an RN and married her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Dal R. Macon Sr., who preceded her in death. Doris loved her family dearly and was proud to be a wife, mother and homemaker. In addition to her nursing career, she helped to start and grow Macon & Company with her husband and son, John. Doris had many interests including travel, volunteering, bridge, reading, playing the piano and gardening. She leaves behind three loving sons, Dal (Marian), Paul (Kristin), John (Ruth) and Christine Macon as well as eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family would like to thank her special friend and caregiver Dorothy, caregivers Mary and Philena and Vitas Innovative Hospice Care for their end of life care. The service of remembrance for Doris will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, located at 1100 N. Astor Street in Milwaukee. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any donations in her memory be given to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, the Alzheimer's Association or another charity of choice.
