Edward W. Hurula

1934 - 2015

Hurula, Edward W. Found peace and was reunited with his beloved Alice on August 5, 2015 at the age of 80 years. A long-time resident of Hartford, he was a parish trustee at St. Kilian Church and a commissioner with the Hartford Police and Fire Commission at the time of his passing. The fifth of ten children born to William and Esther (Nortunen) Hurula in northern Wisconsin on October 2, 1934, he had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed near Washington DC where he met Alice Perdeus. Married in 1956, they lived in Wisconsin for all of their 57 years together. Alice died in September 2013. Edward is survived by five fabulous (his word) children; Barbara, Judy (Matt), Mike (Donna), Janet (Danny) and Steve (Silia); nine loving grandchildren and three precious great-grandsons. Also survived by siblings Marie (Fred) Martin, Jack (Ada), Marty (Jim) Rhoades and Jim Hurula, along with sisters-in-law Evelyn, Jane, Dorothy and Honey Perdeus. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Henry, Ray, Ken, Bill and John. He also leaves behind many caring relatives and close friends. His career was in manufacturing management and he worked at Ladish, Slinger Manufacturing and with national and international clients in the US, Canada and Mexico. Our gratitude to the doctors and staff at Aurora clinic and hospital, Aurora Hospice and Kathy Hospice for their exemplary care. The family also wishes to thank special neighbors Pam and Dave for their loving care and help this past year. Edward was a man of faith and wisdom and love. He will be remembered as someone who only wanted the best for his family, his church and his city. Services will be held Tuesday, August 11th at St. Kilian Church 264 W. State Street in Hartford. Visitation will be at the church from 2:30 until 5 PM. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested for the St. Kilian Education Endowment Fund, 428 Forest Street, Hartford WI 53027 or a charity of your choosing.
