Edward Stoltz Obituary

Stoltz, Edward James Born in Ithaca, Wisconsin, August 8, 1916, passed away peacefully at Oakhill Terrace in Waukesha on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012. Edward was the eldest of eight children born to the late John and Elizabeth (Doyle) Stoltz. He graduated from Ithaca high school in 1923 at the age of 15 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Edward was married to the late Leona M. (Ford) in November of 1938. He is preceded in death by his wife, Leona and his eldest child, John (Jack) Edward, and Leona had five children, John (Christine Sullivan) Mark (Sandra Thompson) of Waukesha, Richard (Celia Carr) of Washington Island, Wi., Alice (George Wolske) Waukesha, and Roger (Dawn Klein) of Waukesha, five grandchildren, Eric, Kurt, Kevin and Alicia Stoltz and Derek Wolske. He is further survived by three great -grandchildren, Ella, Griffin and Sadie Stoltz. He is further survived by four sisters, Mary, Rose, Veronica, Lorraine, sister-in-law Martha Stoltz, and many other relatives and friends. During the 1940's and 50's Edward was primarily employed in various farm management positions in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. In 1960, he began work with the Wisconsin State Highway Commission as a real estate appraiser until his retirement in 1981. Edward was a former member and past president of the Waukesha City Council, a Waukesha County Board supervisor, and served on the Wisconsin Railroad Commission. He is a past President of the Waukesha Toastmasters, member of the Waukesha Kiwanis and a long time active member of St. Joseph Catholic church. Edward touched the lives of many through his service to make the Waukesha community a better place to live and work. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2012 and continue until the 12 noon Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186, with Father Bill Key as celebrant. The family would like to thank the entire Oak Hill Terrace staff for all their care and support, along with VITAS Hospice. If you care to make any donations, please make them to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County, or the Salvation Army.
