Ernest Augustine

Augustine, Ernest "Ernie" Born April 29, 1925, in Stevens Point, WI, to parents Anton and Clara Augustyniak. Passed away on February 22, 2009, in Wauwatosa, WI, at the age of 83. Ernie spent his childhood in Galloway, WI, before being called to duty to the U.S. Army at the age of 19. After heroically serving his country during WWII in Italy and North Africa, he met and married Florence Buza on November 15, 1948. After a few years in Nelsonville, WI, Ernie and Florence settled in the Milwaukee area where he started his own roofing company with business partner John Probst. After more than 25 years in the business, Ernie sold his share of the company and retired to enjoy his free time at home and at his cottage in Fox Lake, WI. Ernie and Florence were charter members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Ernie was a devoted loving husband, supportive caring father and grandfather, and a friend to all. Ernie is survived by his wife Florence, sons Dane (Gilda) of Terlingua, TX, Dean (Sandy) of Eagle River, WI, Craig (Tammy) of Appleton, WI and Kurt (Kathy) of Rochester, MN, brothers Peter of Iola and Vernon of Galloway, WI, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation Friday, February 27, 2009, at ST. MARGARET MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3930 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee, from 9:30AM - 12 noon. Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Burial Wisconsin Memorial Park.
