Eugene Felker Obituary

Felker, Eugene Marvin "Gene" Born in Milwaukee, March 4, 1929, died March 12, 2013, Mesa, AZ. Survived by his wife Georgene, his daughter Marla and husband Mark Zimmerman, grandsons Casey Ekren, Cory and wife Danielle Ekren and 3 great - grandsons. His sister Trish (Felker) Barian and husband Sam and many nieces and nephews. Gene was a standout athlete at North Division High School in Milwaukee and graduated at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of the famed "Hard Rocks" defensive unit of the 1951 Badger football team. Gene also coached football at the University of Wisconsin from 1967-68. Gene was the founder of Prostate On-Site Project a 501(c)(3) foundation that provides mobile prostate screenings to men throughout Arizona. His inspiration will benefit families to come for generations. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: All Sports Foundation Inc. dba Prostate On-Site Project- www.prostatecheckup.org or 525 W. My dad loved "Geno" Felker. I was pretty little when I first met Gene, but as I grew older, I loved him too. He had one of those laughs you just couldn't help but laugh with. Even though I hadn't seen much of Gene or Georgine over the past decade, whenever I did, it was a real treat. On behalf of all the Straus' I send my condolences and sympathy to all the Felkers
