I am grateful for the opportunity to remember Mr. Kane. I spoke of him recently at an event when we were asked who made an impression on our life. Along with my parents, I said Mr. Kane influenced my life and career in many ways. I miss those times after he retired when he and I would meet for breakfast and reminisce about our days together at Edison Junior (and later Middle) School. He is the person who started me on a pathway to acquire a doctorate in education

I send Mrs. Kane and family my heartfelt sympathy. Mr. Kane was an outstanding principal in the Milwaukee Public Schools (my principal), and he cared deeply for all students. He was the absolute right person to lead Edison Junior High during the desegregation period. I am truly blessed to have been able to see and talk with him over several occasions and to remember those wonderful days at the school. He provided me so many leader opportunities, and I will be forever grateful. Mr. Kane was a great human being and educator. I will miss him. Again, my condolences to the family!
