Frank Balistrieri Obituary

Balistrieri, Frank J. Entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the age of 85. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Clara Rose (nee Schneider); son Peter (Lisa) of Shorewood, daughter Cathy (Richard) Butsch of Franklin and son Phillip of Wauwatosa. He was the proud Nannu of Peter (Fran), Katherine, Angela and great-grandfather of Dominic and Maddox. Frank was preceded in death by his father Peter and mother Catherine (nee Dentice) and his sister Catherine Balestrere. He is survived by his brother Joseph (Vicki) and sisters Rosemarie (Ted) Rogowski and Frances Beyersdorf. Also survived by a brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear and special friends. Frank carried a wide smile and his guitar for over 70 years professionally with a number of partners and bands, ranging from the Jolly Polkats to the Sicilian Serenaders. He brought music and joy to many, and was a long time and active member of the Italian Community Center, San Giuseppe Society, Sons of Italy, and the Pompeii Men's Club. He provided for his family with his pizza restaurants, as an insurance agent and as the owner and operator of the Italian Carretto. During his life, although Frank loved to entertain others, his family always remained his first love. Most importantly, Frank was a Christian and believed everyone can come to know Jesus Christ. The Balistrieri Family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Froedtert Hospital, Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital and VITAS Hospice for their compassionate care. Clara and family,
Oh the stories my husband's grandma tells us about Frank. He was in my husband's grandparents wedding (John and Betty Corrao). She has many fond memories of Frank, my husband (Tony Corrao) tells me stories of when he was little and they would go visit Frank at the store. Frank and Clara came to our wedding in April, what joy that brought to Grandma Betty! May the LORD be with you in your time of need and strength you to get through this difficult time.

I am very sad to hear of Frank's passing. He was a kind man and always a pleasure to see him performing or just for a chat. Sorry that a playing engagement on Tues. evening prevents me from being there in person to extend my sympathies - sincerely, Jeff Winard
