Smith Family,
I know you have lost a devoted husband, father and brother. Disney World has lost a frequent guest. He talked about your family vacations often. Additionally, the legal community has lost a brilliant mind and his friends have lost a buddy who was never afraid to confront us with the truth about ourselves. Rick will be missed and I hope you find comfort in your memories.

Rick was a mentor of mine early in my career and I owe a lot to him. He was extremely intelligent and had a great sense of humor. His dedication and love for his family, in spite of the intense pressure for him to put career first, was admirable and inspirational. He will be greatly missed and I wish only the best for his family through these most difficult times.
