Gary Epple Obituary

Gary L. Epple MSgt. Air Force, Retired

Waukesha - Born September 21, 1938. Entered into eternal life April 27th 2021 at the age of 82 after a valiant battle with cancer. Beloved husband for 42 years of Karen (nee: Krause) Epple.

Born and raised in Pittsburg, Kansas. Son of the late Loren Epple and Della Stewart. Lovingly raised by his late aunt and uncle Lucille and Daniel Epple. Brother of Harold Epple, and his late siblings Barbara Lozensky, Esther Carducci, and Loren Epple Jr. Dear father of Dian "Chibi" Epple of Summerville, South Carolina and the late Gary Epple Jr. Grandfather of Monique Bucher, Sean Bellamy, Hana Mintz all of Summerville, South Carolina and the late Benjamin Epple.

In 1956 Gary began his military career in the US Air Force. He served at various Air Force bases but was happiest during his three tours in his beloved Japan. Gary retired in Oct 1976 from Charleston Air Force base. In 1977 he began working at the 440th Air Force base in Milwaukee and remained there as a Disaster Preparedness Officer until he retired in December 1998. After retirement Gary pursued many interests including hunting and fishing and training his faithful black labradors Molly, Annie, Sadie and Daisy.

Memorials appreciated to Badger Honor Flights, American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

A graveside service and military honors will be held May 19th 2021 at 10am at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL CEMETERY (14875 W Greenfield Ave). Please arrive 10 minutes early and meet at the front office.
