I just read that Gary died while reading through the MARTA newsletter. I was a teacher at the 8th St school, and he was the best administrator I ever had.

I was sorry to hear of Mr Finch's passing. He was a good man and will be missed by many. Debbie and I were good friends at St Catherine's and I spent many sleepovers at the Finch house. I remember sneaking downstairs after bedtime and watching Mr and Mrs Finch doing yoga . Thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Kathy, our sincerest condolences. We are very sad to hear of Gary's passing. You & Gary were the best of neighbors. Gary was a good man & will be missed. You could tell he had a great time playing catch with his grand kids in the back yard. Don't hesitate to ask if there is anything we can do for you.

I am a former student of Mr. Finch from Madison High School. As Jerome has noted, he, and Silvio worked closely with him in high school. He was indeed a hero and one of the finest people I have ever known. Role model has become one of those overused phrases but he truly one of mine. May he rest in peace. - Mike DeLonay, Madison Senior High, Class of 70.

Mrs. Finch, we have not seen each other in many years. You have my heartfelt sympathy.

Dear Mrs. Finch, I met you as a high school student at James Madison. Mr. Finch was our advisor for the "Who Knows" team. You and Mr. Finch had us at your home every Saturday during the "Who Knows" contest on TV. In the spring of 1971, I was the alternate and in the fall, I was the captain. You guys were very kind to have us in your home every week. I was never lucky enough to have Mr. Finch as a teacher, but I think I was very lucky to have him in my life for a short time. It was a real privilege to have known him. I am so sorry for you and your family's sadness.

Kathy, was so sorry to read of Gary's passing. I had the honor of working with him at Vincent High School. I was just thinking abour his surprise 40th birthday party the other day. Best party ever with the Elvis impersonator. Gary was a kind, thoughtful co-worker and I am glad to have shared a brief portion of his career with him. And Kathy, I also remember how sweet you always were to me. You and your family are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Gary. I remember having several classes in high school with him. May he rest in peace and enjoy watching over his family here on earth. I would have liked to come to his funeral but we are in Florida until April.
