To The Family Of Gary J Senner
My most sincere sympathy to each of you at this time of your loss. And my most profound appreciation to each of you for allowing me the privilege of knowing and having Gary in my life.
I have known Gary since we were 13 years old. Back in the day, it was Gary, Jerry Barker, Tim Lanagan, Bobby Lara,Christianson, myself and a host of others who were buddies and hung out on Smith Street in Bayview. I moved away from the area to another school district at age 15 but never lost contact with Gary.
Our lives took totally different paths. Gary loved to drive semi and I went into law enforcement. Gary and I were on different sides of the fence on many issues that we did not see eye to eye on but we never, ever let that fence come between us. In recent years Gary always found the time to stop by and spend time with my family and me. I always had to calm the neighbors down when Gary would show up at 2:00 am (bar closing wouldn't you know) and idle a semi parked on a residential street. My neighbors loved the little guy. It did not matter to me what time he came over; just that he did. My wife loved Gary so the door was always open.
We would sit at the kitchen table and talk for hours. Maybe had a beer or two also. Gary loved his girls, his mom and dad, his brothers and sisters and could not say enough about them.
My fondest recent memory of Gary was when he called me long distance from some other state to tell me that he bought me a present and was stopping by in a day or two to give it to me. Two days later Gary was there and he gave me a CD that he bought knowing how much the both of us dug this group. It was The Very Best Of Bachman-Turner-Overdrive (BTO). And away we went in my van playing and singing "Taking Care Of Business" until I couldn't take it anymore.
That CD is my most prized possesssion from a friend. I have placed it in a safe place and when the time is right, I will play it for the both of us.
Your friendship is eternal. May You Rest In Peace Gary.

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was bought a paper, to look for Gary's obituary. When I found it, many emotions came over me, but the biggest was happiness and gratitude.
I am so thankful, for whoever wrote his obituary, that they included my name. And they acknowledged, that even if I wasn't Gary's blood, he was still my father.
Words could never say how much Gary meant to me. Or how much I will miss him. He was not only a father, but a best friend, too.
He will remain in my heart, with all the wonderful memories I have of him, until the day I can see him again. We have lost so much, but at least we have all our memories to keep him alive.
