Geraldine Ann Schmidt

Schmidt, Geraldine Ann Geraldine Ann Schmidt, age 79 of Elkhart Lake, passed away unexpectedly in rural Elkhart Lake, WI on November 16, 2016. Gerry was born in Belleville, WI on August 16, 1937, daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (Kehrli) Matzinger. Gerry attended Belleville High School and Lakeland College. On June 7, 1958 she married Lewis A. Schmidt. She held positions at Bank of Spring Green, First Interstate Bank Sheboygan, and Lakeland College, retiring in 1999. In more recent years Gerry volunteered at St. Peter's United Church of Christ-Kiel WI, Rocky Knoll Nursing Home and Blue Cross. Gerry was a member of St Peter's United Church of Christ-Kiel, a member of the Mendelssohn Choir and the Chapel Chimers Bell Choir. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and was an avid blood donor totaling over 16 gallons to date. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Probably most notable was her direct participation and involvement in her husband Lew's career of music education. Gerry taught piano lessons, and was the pianist/accompanist for hundreds of student recitals and solo/ensemble competitions from 1960 to present. Gerry was an only child, and is survived by daughter Lynn (Enrico) Musco of Deland FL and their son Alex Cholka Chicago, IL, daughter Laurie Schmidt and Darin Grobe of Milwaukee, WI, and son Scott (Suzi) Schmidt of Mazomanie, WI. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents and special uncle Arnold Kehrli. Gerry is survived by many other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday evening (November 22, 2016) at 6:00 P.M. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Kiel, WI with Lay Minister Mike Mathes officiating. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 4:00 PM on Tuesday until the time of Services. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will also be held on Friday, (November 25, 2016) from 1 PM to 5 PM at Arthur's Supper Club in Spring Green, WI. Sharing of Memories and stories will take place at 2:30 PM.
