Gordon D. "Gordie" Mudlaff

Gordon Mudlaff Obituary

Mudlaff, Gordon D. "Gordie" Born December 9, 1932. Ended his life journey on July 10, 2012. Survived by Janet (Nee Brielmaier), his wife of 58 years; daughters Sue (Cliff) Bushberger and Sandie (David) Keating; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Gordie was an intense and hardworking man. He believed in old school principals and workmanship. He was a master carpenter who always took pride in his work and put his family first. He enjoyed a successful career as a driver on the local racing circuit in the 1960's and 70's. When you look in the sky during a storm, the thunder you hear first might just be his "Thunder Wagon" #45 racing for the checkered flag at Slinger Speedway. He enjoyed hunting with his German Wirehair pointers that he trained and loved so much. Fishing became a new loved sport when Gordie's knees could no longer endure the walking that hunting required. He would fish the early morning hours and could fillet a fish like a chef, of course with his knife that he had just sharpened the night before. He had many friends and loved to go to breakfast with his buddies. The man that was "Made in the USA" will be missed by many, but definitely never forgotten! Continuing to honor Gordie's wishes, there will be a private burial. Gordie was always looking out for the less fortunate and would appreciate memorials in his honor to go to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

I wanted to offer my condolences. Some of my fondest memories were watching Gordy race on Sunday nights at Slinger Speedway. I had pictures of Gordy in that orange #45 Chevy in my bedroom. He sure won a lot of races!!

Blessings to all of the family.
