RIP Greg, We just received the news this morning of your passing. Dear Family (Don, Susie, Alan who we know best) of his, you have our most sincere condolences. Peace from Brad, Tracy & Trevor Hoernke. Greg was a fixture to the neighborhood, for sure. It was always pleasant to cross his path. My favorite story was that of a late fall morning walk in Humbolt Park with my 4 yr. old son Trevor, his furry stuffed cat companion "Mew Mew" in hand. Trevor had run in front of me and did not see that the leaf ridden shore ended and front pond on Oklahoma began. He had fallen in the cold muck and there he was, Greg in the right place at the right time. Greg ran and grabbed my Trevor from the frigid pond. After making sure Trevor was not injured we noticed "Mew Mew" the stuffed cat was missing. Greg so kindly went back into the pond and pulled that goose crap covered "Mew Mew" from the pond and gently handed him into the arms of my very cold, wet, dirty, & Happy Trevor who said "Thanks Mister."
