Harry,
You were not only my brother but one of my best friends. You were also one of the best human beings that I have ever known. Your departure is a profound loss, one that I will grapple with for the the rest of my life. Your love, compassion, patience and tolerance knew no bounds. I can honestly say that I am a better person for having known you. I have always, and will always love you - and I hope that you have found some peace tonight.
For those who knew Harry best, I ask one simple thing: pick one quality that made him so special and manifest it in your own life and in that way he will live on.

To Harry's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Harry was a person that you instantly liked. He had the sweetest, kindest nature of anyone I have ever met, always smiling, eager to help. He will be greatly missed by his Derco family.

Lisa, Sarah, and Anna
So sorry for your shocking and unexpected loss. I had worked with Harry for the past 21 years at Derco and I don't think I've ever worked with such a kind, polite, humble, and level headed person as Harry. We ate lunch together nearly every day and I will truly miss our sometimes deep conversations related to music, science, and astronomy. If you didn't already know, you would be proud to know that he was the absolute "go to" person in the shop when test equipment or tooling broke down or we just needed help with just about anything. Harry will be sincerely missed!

The Derco team has lost one of the most kind and generous people in the world. Harry was always great with me, explaining the technical elements of his work and being patient when I didn't quite understand. He embodied the qualities of teamwork, dedication, commitment to excellence, problem solving and creative thinking. It is with great sadness that we must say goodbye to Harry. God's blessings and support to his family in this difficult time.

So sad to read this. I had the great pleasure of knowing Harry. Went to high school and worked together at Nitz Hardware store with both Harry and his brother Bob. Many great memories. Then suddenly I saw Harry again 10 years later when I was working at Derco, and had the opportunity to reconnect and catch up. Patient, kind, and humble are absolutely perfect words to describe him. My condolences to Bob and the rest of Harry's family on their loss.

I had the pleasure of working directly with Harry for a short time at DRS Inc.! He was always easy to talk to and very personable!! When he trained in my area of the shop, we always had fun! I can still picture his face when he would realize that I had tricked him with a play-on-words or stumped him with an outright fabrication!! His laugh always moved his whole body and was quite contagious!
The World has lost a little of it's spark, without Harry present!!! I hope God has many things that need to be fixed or Harry will get bored quickly!
My Deepest Condolences and Heartfelt Sympathies go out to Harry's Family.....may God Bless them, Keep them Close and surround them with His Mercy

Although Harry was 1 of 280 Derco Family, with his passing we lost 50% of our "Kindness Quotient". I worked with Harry for 20+ years (many as his supervisor) and he had the most positive, can-do attitude when we hit project obstacles. I have never met a more decent man.

What a shock! Only 52. As many have commented, Harry was one of the kindest persons they or I have ever known. Never a bad word for or about anyone. Harry would always take the time to stop to help if you needed it.
There was little he couldn't figure out. His post it notes with a pen on his lanyard was signature Harry.
Harry will be missed, I hope we can all learn from Harry's last act, he teaches us all that we should cherish our friends and family as we may not have a tomorrow to do so.

Harry came with the 'Lisa package' when she and I rekindled our high school friendship. What a great guy! From cooking a steak (which was actually a roast) in the hotel coffee pot to discussing the principles of shock absorption in buildings...to staging photos of himself 'falling' off the Sturgeon Bay bridge. He was not only hilarious, but a perfect match for Lisa, and she perfect for him. Until we meet again.....

He always had a twinkle in his eye when he met you. He loved to talk about music and great classic rock bands. We just had dinner with him and we so wish there would have been something we could have said or done. His death leaves a void for so many. And we are sorry we are out of town and will not be able to be there with the family at this time. We love you ....
