Mr. Aniakudo-A man I have known since 1970. Mr Aniakudo had a commanding presence and a voice that automatically warranted respect. There were times when he ask me to help with some tasks on a particular weekend that I was sure I had other plans-but the sound of his voice and the manner in which he asked translated your mother and father are telling you to do this--end of discussion. Yes he may have been old fashioned but that's what is needed in today's society. Plenty of young people would be much much better off. Mr. Aniakudo -a gentle giant who will be missed but not forgotten. May he rest in peace

Mr. Aniakudo was an integral part of my childhood -- his booming voice and stature made us pay attention whenever we were around. He was a jovial man yet stern when necessary. We always knew we were safe when he was around. I will miss him since he has been a part of my life forever -- coming to my childhood home for the African student gatherings and later spending time at his home with Maureen, Patty and Osi as children. I learned about the Biafran War and how it impacted his life forever. He was proud of hid heritage and shared it wih all. Rest in peace Mr. Aniakudo, rest in peace.
