James Schweiger Obituary

Schweiger, James R. Age 80, of Jefferson, passed away at his home Wednesday, April 4, 2007 surrounded by family. He was born on March 13, 1927 in Milwaukee, son of the late Roman and Leona (Koch) Schweiger. James served in the United States Army from April 1945-November 1946. A successful businessman, he was the past president of Schweiger Industries in Jefferson, Wisconsin and Booneville, Mississippi. He married Margaret Heitz on June 7, 1946 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. James is survived by his wife, Margaret "Muggie" of Jefferson; three daughters, Margaret "Peggy" (Peter) Olivieri of New York, Nancy (Bill) Shorey of Jefferson, and Beth (Noel) Buggs of Jefferson; two sons, Robert (Suzy) Schweiger of North Carolina and Mark (Patty) Schweiger of Madison; 13 grandchildren, Rebecca (Mark) Koeff, Gretchen Schweiger, Emily (Matt) Donnelly, Sarah (Trent) Lange, Margaret Olivieri, Anna Aufderhaar, Kathryn Schweiger, Daniel Olivieri, Elizabeth Schweiger, Theresa Olivieri, Laura Schweiger, Elias Vareldzis, and Ellen Vareldzis. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and sister-in-law, Lamont (Lee) Schweiger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. Burial in Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again at the Church on Tuesday from 10-11 AM. Memorials may be given in Jim's memory to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Rainbow Hospice.
