Bob, Peg, et al,
Got an E-Mail message today from Tom McKale advising that they had been at the liturgy today.
That was the first that we heard of your DEAR SAINTLY DEVOUT IRISH MOM's passing.
Tough to be "out-of-the-circle" here in "The Heartland" but glad to see that some of our best Irish Friend's try to assure that we are kept informed.
Her Legacy Lives On with the very special beauty of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Always remember, {as we know you truly believe and understand with the very essence of your beings}, MOM is with you and all of us now in a much more special and intimate way that she never, ever could have been while confined to human form.
WE MISS ALL OF YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH !
Always in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
GOD BLESS YOU !
LOVE,
Dale and Irene

Dear O'Briens,
It was such a joy to see you all at the wake for your Mom. Her Irish eyes were smiling in every photo I saw! It is difficult to lose a Mom but the memories seem to hold you up during the sadness of now. Please know that you are all in my prayers today; so sorry I can't be there in person to help celebrate her life. I have great respect and love for your Mom, I remember her fondly. She took her role (with all the other Mom's) seriously helping to raise all of us on Shepard Ave to be happy and fun-loving people. With warmest regards to all of you,
John Eiffler

Dear O'Brien Family,
It was so nice to connect the Catalanes & the O'Briens again after all the St. Robert's days. I loved seeing your mother in the hallways of the Catholic Home - she was always so upbeat, positive & just plain fun! She's in my prayers now. God bless you all.

Jane & Family - I never met Mrs. O'Brien, but I met her daughter Jane and knew right away her mother did a fabulous job raising her children. I send my love, prayers and sincere hopes that your journey through grief brings you to a place of peace.

To our dearest friends, Peggy and Bob Hamill & all of the awesome O'Briens, the most wonderful legacy of Jane's life and her personally expressed greatest source of pride. We join you in the sorrow of losing a parent, but share comfort in visualizing Jane and Mary affectionately escorting each other to their well earned eternal bliss. We feel so privileged to have had such incredible women as maternal models who so deeply and warmly touched our lives. May those of us left behind follow their example by embracing each day with gratitude as we show God's love in all we say and do & to everyone we meet.
God's blessings to all of you,
Reeny, John Terry and the Mulcahy Family

Dear O'Brien Friends:
On behalff of the Louis and Marian Jane Maier family, please accept our condolences on the death of Jane. Our families go back a long, long way. Bob served mass at my parents wedding in 1940. I'll never forget the fun time our families had together at Three Lakes - especially with Janie.
What a treasure to have family friends like that. Our hearts are with you at this transition in your lives.
Much love from all of us.

I celebrate Jane O'Brien's life and grieve her passing. She was, and remains for me, a "andmark" individual in terms of my development as a boy and young teen, an example of love that blended compassion, empathy and toughness. I last saw her at my own Mom's funeral in October of 2008, and her kind words were of great comfort to me. Her legacy will live on in all her children, as they pass on, in their own ways, the consistent love and care she demonstrated to them and the other 100+ children growing up on the 3200 block of Shepard Avenue.

Dear Peg and Bob and Family
We always looked forward to St. Patty's Day to visit with your mom, sitting with the ladies on the couch. What a zest for life this woman had and an inspiration to others that life is how you live it. Our sincere sympathy to you all and may GOD Bless you in peace.
