Jason Stearns Obituary

Stearns, Jason L., Jr. Age 63, of Horicon, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee. Jason Lee Stearns, Jr. was born on January 15, 1948, to Jason, Sr. and Leila (Tingley) Stearns, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Jason proudly served in the Army from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1971. He worked as an Engineer Equipment Repairman in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, before earning several medals in Vietnam as part of the 62nd Landclearing Unit from July 13, 1968 until July 7, 1969. He remained a proud and active member of both the VFW and American Legion until his death. Survivors are his wife Helen; daughters Jennifer, Julie "Phred" Rosenberg and Jessica; grandson Will Rosenberg; stepson Ryan; sisters, Leila Stearns of Arkansas, and Nancy (Harry) Fraley of Antigo; former wife Jacqueline Stearns; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests that memorials be made in Jason's name to the American Lung Association or to the Blood Center of Wisconsin. Visitation for Jason will be at Murray Funeral Home, 716 Clinton St., Horicon, on Friday, March 25, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Service to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Lake Maria Cemetery, Town of Manchester, with military honors provided by the Randolph VFW Post # 9510.
