I am so sad to hear that Coach Setz passed away. Wow was the only word I could say when I found out. I remember him very fondly as my Math teacher at Eisenhower, and I always remember watching him from the sidelines after performing as Drum Major of the high school band in my senior year, thinking what an awesome coach he was. And the best thing about Coach/Mr. Setz - he was always smiling his trademark smile and never said a harsh word about anyone. Rest in peace Coach Setz. I will never forget you, and the legacy you have left behind at Eisenhower is beyond words. Amy Voge (Floryance), New Berlin Eisenhower Class of 1995.

Words don't ease the hurt that is being felt by all who knew Jeff. He taught and coached my "kids" at Ike in the 80's. He was a good person and a better "teacher". God bless him.

Jeff was a shining example of what a Hall of Fame coach should be on and off the field.

Just wanted send my condolences to the Setz family, I am the Head Football Coach at St. Francis High School and coached against Jeff's teams for many years. I have always had great respect for Jeff and enjoyed our coaching friendship. We had some thrilling games over the years and will always appreciate the class that he had shown. Again my condolences to the Setz family and the Eisenhower football family.

It was a great pleasure to have known coach Setz. I was the head football coach at Thomas More for 9 years and we battled yearly in the Woodland Conference. He was an excellent coach and I always enjoyed talking with him.
My condolences to the family and rest in peace coach Setz.

To The Setz Family
Please know that our sympathies and prayers are with you. Jeff was a wonderful human being and always gave kids the ability to believe in themselves. My nephew Stephen was one of those people who Jeff touched. He will truly be missed.

We had our children in the same classes... Our daughter Wendy was with Kristin and our daughter Amy was with Jonathan. Kristin and Amy were on the Swim team together and even though Swim season was the same as football, Mr. Setz seemed to make it to see Kristin swim at the swim meets... I'm sure he was busy but he did his best to make the swim meets.
Wendy had Mr Setz for Math... She failed her final exam and she was afraid she wouldn't graduate with her class but Mr Setz gave her a second chance to re take the test. And on Graduation Day as the students were gathering together with cap and gown, Wendy saw Mr Setz come out and he yelled," Wendy, you passed the re take test" and Wendy, joyfully yelled "I'm Graduating with my class!!". We are eternally greatful to this kind man who gave a second chance to Wendy to take the test as she was ready to go into the United States Air Force right after Graduation
I know he was a very loved coach and teacher over the years he spent at Eisenhowet... He knew kids... He knew how to help them excel. He will be such a loss to his school and family. He had a life well lived.

My deepest sympathy to Jeff's family. I had Jeff for math and softball years ago. I also saw him over the years at Holy Apostles. He was a paragon and proof that an individual can change another person's life. He will live on in all those he's touched. I wish comfort for his family.

The world is truly a sadder place for the loss of this great man. He was more than a teacher and greater than a coach. Mr. Setz was able to make you believe not only in yourself but in your worth to the rest of the group. He left me awed, inspired and with confidence that I could learn ANYTHING-because when my faith faltered, he would say "You can do this!". Well done Mr. Setz, thank you for your enthusiasm...God Bless.

Back in the 80's, I was a math student of Mr. Setz. He was an excellent teacher who was real and genuine. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't care about the students he taught. Also, what he projected was a good family man. He will be greatly missed! Love, Denise (Machnik)Ziebart

Jeff was an excellent coach, however I worked with Jeff on an academic level with the students. Jeff worked well with students in all levels of Math, and when working with Special Needs Students, Jeff had a remarkable level of patience and endeavored to find practical applications in which students would see the need for Math in their lives. The encouragement and enthusiasm he displayed with his athletes on the football field, though on a different level, was transferred directly into the classroom. My deepest condolences to Jeff's Family.
