Joan Cwiklowski

1937 - 2016

Cwiklowski, Joan (Nee Krezman ) After a hard-long battle with cancer, Joan died at home on June 5, 2016 in Milwaukee WI at the age of 79. She leaves behind her husband, George Cwiklowski; her son, Craig Cwiklowski (Pauline); and her daughters; Jill Laumann, Sharon Rohlfing (Mark) and Lynn Teetz (Henry). In addition she leaves behind 7 grandchildren; Jessi Bartz (Brad), Becky Amundson (Josh), Karen andScott Rohlfing, Ryan, Jordan and Sydnee Teetz; 4 great-grandchildren, Carter and Carson Bartz, Hailey and Joey Thorton. Joan was born on January 20, 1937 in Milwaukee WI, to father Joseph Krezman and mother Julia (Nee Sobczak) Wargin, who predeceased her. She grew up in a loving family with one sister (Jeanette) and two brothers (Joe and Jerry). She graduated high school in 1955 from South Division, Milwaukee WI. Joan married her lifelong friend and love of her life; George Cwiklowski on July 25, 1959. They were married for 56 years during which time they lived and raised their four children in Milwaukee, WI. Joan was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother with a love of caring for her family and home. She fought the diagnosis of breast cancer 17 years ago-then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September 2015-continued her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. Visitation will be held Friday June 10th at Schaff funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service at noon. Entombment at St. Adalbert's Cemetery. The family would especially like to thank Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice for their excellent work and loving care; the staff of Aurora Cancer Care and Dr. Qamar for their constant, attentive treatment; and the Schaff Funeral Home, for making the arrangements.
