Joan Hill Obituary

Age 64, of Janesville, WI, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 28, 1941 in Greenwood, WI, the daughter of the late Herbert and Christina Margaret (Jones) Hill. Joan married Allen L. Hill June 20, 1959 in Milwaukee, WI.

She attended Lincoln High School in Milwaukee, WI. Joan worked for 4 years at Prent Corp. and then for 20 years at General Motors Corp., retiring in 1997. She was known as "Ma Hill" by co-workers at General Motors for all the treats she would bring in. She loved to do Ceramics, winning best in show at some of the contests. She knitted blankets, liked to garden, baking Christmas cookies, her Santa Claus collection, and worked part time in an apple orchard where the grandchildren would come, and she let them pick their own apples.

Joan is survived by her husband Allen L.; her children, Barbara J. (James A.) Reidenbach, of Beloit, WI, Tammy (Richard) Ingle, Penney (Alan) Hill Mundt, both of Janesville, Richard A. (Barbara A.) Hill, of Milton, WI and Karen B. (friend Troy Pastorius) Schmidt, also of Janesville, WI; 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Phillis Krajack, Angie Warneke, Herbert (Ruth) Polzin, Wayne (Joanne) Polzin, James Polzin, Joey (Laura) Polzin, Darlene (Marvin) Smith, William (Sandra) Polzin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers and sister, Lavern Polzin, Victor Polzin, Robert Polzin, June Polzin, and Janette Polzin.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 5:00 PM at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, 15 N. Jackson St., Janesville, with Pastor Ian Stirrat officiating. Private family burial will be Friday at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be given to HospiceCare Inc., Janesville, or American Diabetes Association.
