Dear Dave, Bobby, and All in the Bauer Family,
So sad to hear from my sister, Jackie Meagher (nee Budzien), of Joel's passing. She was his classmate at Tosa West and always spoke so highly of him. He, like all the Bauer men, was a handsome dude with a winning personality and athletic and all-around good guy. Jackie was his science lab partner and admired him and his handsome decency. The Bauers, and especially Joel himself, deserved better than this pre-mature demise. I know the tragedy in his youth was sad beyond belief, but hopefully he will find immediate, longed-for peace as he enters the arms of his Heavenly Father. Be at peace and God bless Joel and all in the extended Bauer Family. I will mention him by name at Mass tomorrow at St. Charles Parish in Hartland, Wisconsin. Many will pray for the repose of his soul. Amen! The Bauers are a great memory for me.

As a friend and fellow classmate of Joe's at Longfellow Jr. High and Wauwatosa West HS I was saddened to read of his passing. Joe was a brilliant student, great athlete and truly a nice guy. As a group we had fun at many parties, homecoming and cheering for him on the football field or at basketball games. I will always remember him as well as my friends' boyfriend -Gaye in HS and Anne in Jr. High. Peace Joe...
