Joel T. Goplin

Goplin, Joel T. Age 39, of Milwaukee and formerly of Blue Mounds, WI, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, after an eighteen-month battle with cancer. Joel was born February 6, 1969, in Richland Center, WI, to Joe J. and Cheryle L. (Mathews) Studnicka. After the death of Joel's father, Cheryle married Eddie Goplin in 1970. Joel was a graduate of Mt. Horeb High School and the University of Wisconsin. He lived the past 15 years in Milwaukee and enjoyed his occupation as a physical therapist. Joel was very caring and enjoyed helping people. He was especially fond of his pets. Joel is further survived by his brothers, Erik (Nancy) Goplin and Tim (Dawn) Goplin, both of Blue Mounds; his sisters, Ellen (Shawn) Farrell of Pine Bluff, Julie (Dale) Peterson of Madison, Jackie (Pappy) Johnson of Middleton and Katie (John) Field of Blue Mounds; a great-grandmother, Florence Goplin of Richland Center; other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Joe, Joel was preceded in death by his grandparents and many aunts and uncles. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 106 S. Sixth St., Mt. Horeb, WI, with Fr. Rick Heilman officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the ELLESTAD FUNERAL HOME, 500 N. 8th St., Mt.
