Growing up in Elm Grove I was the same age as Sam´s younger brother Tom. Huge crush on Tom. Sam and I shared the July 11 birthday which seemed really amazing at that age, he two years my senior. I had received a thrilling three speed skinny wheeled hand brake Huffy bike at about age 12 or 13. So much more than the classic Schwinn. Sam heard, and came over with his fancy bike to teach me to use it and share the excitement. This was big. He was older and wiser, and so wholesomely enthusiastic about my good fortune. We took a long ride about the Grove and I remember it to this day. I love biking to this day. Rest In Peace my friend, and Thank you.

"Sam" was a lovely man I knew in childhood. Our families were/are great friends since 1953. Sam became my guitar teacher at a very early age. While I wasn't a particularly good student, and was there primarily to learn to play pop music, Sam lovingly taught me to appreciate classical guitar. Something I take with me today. Thank you. Rest in Peace Sam.

Sam was the best older brother; he taught us all to read, protected us, build tree forts, organized games, was in the highest level in the Catholic Church as an altar boy. We will all miss him
