I'm mighty sorry for your loss. My grandfather, Richard Edward Korneisel I just passed away real recently this year and I happened upon this while trying to find his obituary from May. I didn't know any other Korneisels were still living in Iowa, truthfully, but to Mr. Karl and the family, peace be with you. -D.K.

My memories of "Mr." Korneisel are fond and many. I was on his golf teams at Shorewood from 1968 - 1970. He was a patient but direct coach and I always liked him. I still play golf today because of his encouragement and teaching. To his family I express my sympathy for your loss, but also know you appreciated this wonderful man with whom you shared your lives.

Dad, you may not have been the most expressive person, but some of your spoken words are indelible on my mind - "slow down, you'll live longer" (watching cars go by from our Newton Ave. porch while grilling dinner), "keep your left arm straight, and pull down through the ball" (age 6-18), "boom" (on a good night 50 times), and " how's the world treating you?". Thanks for everything, and enjoy your new rough free surroundings. As you also said many times "it's been a real". Cheers.
