Leo Tieman Obituary
Joined the Lord on December 16, 2020 at the age of 99 of natural causes. He was born to Henry and Margaret Tieman on July 15, 1921 in Melrose, MN. He was married to the late Clarissa (nee Westbrock) Tieman on October 22, 1945 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage.
Leo was a WWII Navy veteran. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with an engineering degree and went onto a long career with Chicago Northwestern Railroad. The family lived in Minneapolis, MN; Boone, IA; Melrose Park, IL; Huron, SD; and Green Bay, WI. He retired from the railroad in 1982 with Menomonee Falls, WI as his last assignment. He was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed playing cards.
Leo was a resident of the Arboretum Senior Community in Menomonee Falls, WI for the last 15 years. The family is appreciative of the wonderful care he received. He was a devoted member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
He is survived by sons Gary (Marlyn) Tieman, Seattle, WA; Leo (Mary) Tieman, Lakewood, WI; Warren (Karen) Tieman, Menomonee Falls, WI; and daughter Patricia (Dave Laurent) Tieman, Minneapolis, MN. He was a proud grandfather of Ken, Matthew, Kevin, Leah, Kristin, Jamie and Sarah. He was a great grandfather of 15 and the great-great grandfather of one.
Leo was preceded in death by his wife Clarissa and son Donald.
A Memorial Mass and Life Celebration will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Fort Howard Cemetery, Green Bay, WI.
