Loretta Shesto Obituary

Shesto, Loretta Mae "Retta/Red" (Née Polczynski ) Passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving husband and family at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Resident of Glendale. Retta is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Eli Victor Shesto, two sons, Jeffrey (Susan nee Niss) Shesto, Glendale WI, John (Amy nee Wille) Shesto, Cypress TX, and one daughter, Vicki Shesto, Brookfield WI; grandchildren Hanna Ruesink nee Shesto (Dan Ruesink) Max Shesto, Sophie Shesto, Benjamin Gultch, Cassie Gultch and other relatives and friends. Loretta was born June 2, 1931, in Milwaukee, the eighth child to Frank and Mary Polczynski. Her parents died when she was a young girl, and she spent the remainder of her childhood years residing with her best friend Carmen Jannetto's (nee Downes) family. She will be forever grateful to the Jannetto Family where she was loved and embraced as if one of their own. She married her husband Lawrence Eli Victor Shesto on September 26, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The center of Retta's world was her husband and family. She enjoyed the theatre, attending festivals, going to their lake home, traveling, cooking, and gardening. When Retta entered a room the party began with her effervescent personality and her "gift of gab." She will be missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. She met her husband at Bradford Beach in Milwaukee and they enjoyed 60 plus years of love, laughter and friendship. She began her working career early at Wisconsin Gas Company and took off to raise her family. When the children grew older and began attending school, Retta returned to work at Sears and was employed in the Accounting Department for 20 years before she retired. She is preceded in death by her parents and her seven siblings, relatives and many friends. Loretta was cremated and at her request private family services were held. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society in Loretta's name.
