Marian Brady Obituary

Brady, Marian Marian Brady (nee Huber) passed away on Saturday, November 3, at the age of 84. Originally from Akron, Ohio, Marian spent many years in Lake Bluff, Illinois, Cincinnati, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio. Most recently, she lived close to her family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marian is preceded in death by her husband and dear friend, James, whom she lost in 1986. She is survived by her beloved sister, best friend and closest confidant, Carol Fegen (Peter); her daughters, Jill Marget (Patrick), Joan Hoese (David) and Patricia Brady; and her six grand children, to whom she was their treasured "Mimi," Katy, Jenna and Brady Marget and Anna, Mary and James Hoese. Marian is also survived by many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Marian earned bachelors and masters degrees in Northeast, Ohio, and spent more than 30 years teaching reading and managing library programs in the Cincinnati and Cleveland School Systems. She was most proud of the strides she made to improve reading levels in Cleveland's inner city schools. Marian enjoyed traveling, cheering for the Cleveland Caveliers and her beloved (and fellow St. Vincent High School alum) LeBron James, meeting new people and spending time with friends and family. Her happiest times were spent discussing the happenings and lives with those she cared for - no detail was too small. The family is indebted to the loving and gracious care provided to Marian by her devoted caregivers - Lenicka and Barbara. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the caring staffs at Eastcastle Place and Horizon Home Health Care. Family will greet friends on Sunday, November 18, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at Eastcastle Place, 2505 E. Bradford Avenue, Milwaukee, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private for the family. Memorials in Marian's name may be made to Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039 or Three Holy Women Parish, 1716 N. Humboldt Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202.

Dear Jill and Joan,

My dad called tonight w/ news of your mom's passing. He must have seen the announcement in the Lake Forester. Although it's been years since our grade school days, I remember your mother well. The patience she'd show when we'd take over the entire backyard for an obstacle course; the incessant noise as we played air hockey in the basement or danced in your living room. My mom passed nearly 6 years ago, so I understand how devastating the loss is. Just know that the love your mom had for you, and the example she was for you and Patricia, will always be there to guide you. I am so sorry, and you are in my thoughts.

I met Marian thru my mother (she did her hair). Marian was such a happy lady to be around. I remember when my mom and I took Marian to lunch at Wild Mango, she was so excited we were picking her up for a day out. We had a great day. I'll always remember what a delight she was to be around. She will be missed.

When someone we love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Therefore, treasure the special times spent with Marian-draw strength from the love of family and friends-and may God's word and his loyal love comfort you and help you through this difficult time. Psalm 119:50,76

Dear Jill, Joan, and Patricia,
How sad I am to learn of your mother's passing. She was so vivacious. She had a way about her -- always more interested in hearing what someone else had to say or what they were doing than in talking about herself. Her listening and interest was a real gift that she gave to me and everyone who knew her. I know her passing leaves a huge hole in your lives -- since you lost your wonderful father so early in life. My whole family cherished our special friendship with yours, starting with my Uncle and your Dad as classmates. It's hard to believe that whole generation is gone except for my Dad. I know how proud she was of each of you. Know that my prayers are with you.
