Mark Durand Obituary

Durand, Mark Anthony 61, Of Muskego passed away on January 11th , 2017 of complications from a car accident. He fought courageously for ten days, but his injuries proved to be too severe. He was born March 20th, 1955 to Harold and Ruth Durand in Wausau, WI. Mark is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maryann; daughter Brianna Hoecherl; son, Elgin (Tricia); grandchildren Joli, Ella, and Zoey; sisters Kathleen (Glen) Boehm, Ruth (Steve) Georgeson, Michelle (Ken) Meurett and brother John (Teresa). Mark was preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary Sue. An employee of Beer Capitol Distributing and Miller Brands for 34 years, Mark started out as a route salesman and most recently became On Premise Sales Director where he successfully ran a key part of the business and oversaw 35 employees. One of Mark's greatest joys was coaching his childrens' sports teams and sewing costumes for school events. Mark was a longtime member of the Black and Blue Rugby Club, devoted Harley rider and an enthusiastic golfer who looked forward to his biannual golfing trips with the guys. Mark will be remembered by all for his uncanny ability to find humor in all of life's experiences. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 17th from 3PM-6PM with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ridin' to a Cure - Wisconsin Harley Rock River Hog Chapter http://ridintoacure.com/

I haven't been in touch with Mark for over 40 years but I went to High School with him. For those of you that didn't know Mark in his High School days, he was a "cool cat" and I have fond memories of our adventures. So sorry for your loss.

Maryann, Brianna & Elgin,
Kirk informed Jill and I this afternoon that he heard about Mark today from someone on Facebook. We are shocked, and just heartbroken to hear of Mark's passing. Mark and you all have been such great neighbors for so many years. I had just wished Mark a Merry Christmas just a few weeks ago across the yard. Mark will be so missed but never forgotten. Maryann please let Jill and I know how we can be of any help. You all are in our prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Mark's death. I played rugby with Mark years ago. Mark ALWAYS had a smile on his face and never had a bad word for anyone. Rest in Peace Mark. Your eternal life is here.

I have a story about Mark that most people don't know, but he was the person who introduced me to rugby! I was sitting at a bar with my friends and Mark was making a delivery. When he was done he sat down next to me and he asked me if I would like to play rugby so I gave him my phone number. It was in the dead of winter so practice didn't start for a couple of months. His call that spring is what changed my life. I ended up playing rugby for 30 + years and most things in my life changed because Mark made that call back to me. I would have not met my wife of 25 years and so many things because he made that call! Cheer to you Mark! God has a plan for you in heaven!
