Mary Savage Schwertfeger

Mequon - (née Savage) Entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 75. Resident of Mequon, Mary and her husband Ron were deeply devoted to one another and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December 2020. Loving mother of Scott and Mark Schwertfeger and Anne (Chris) Babick. Proud and beloved "Mermi" to grandchildren Grace, Christopher, Stephen, Andrew and John. Dear sister of John and Tom (Tammy Jung) Savage and Kate (Don) Gruning. Further survived by devoted relatives and friends.

Mary's life centered around faith and family. Mary cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother as God's precious gifts. Warm, outgoing and upbeat, Mary made friends easily, and her wonderful sense of humor and loyalty led to many lifelong friendships. Mary had a strong work ethic and always looked out for others, nurturing family and friends alike. With incredible grace, Mary generously supported and guided many with compassion. Family and friends will remember her thoughtful hand written notes and a welcome lap for her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever on our minds and in our hearts.

The family wishes to thank the oncology staff at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's for their dedication and compassionate care.

I was very saddened to learn of Mary´s death. She put up such a good fight but God´s plan for her was to be with Him, in heaven, pain free and happy. May you be comforted with wonderful memories of a very special lady.

I am so sorry that I am in Michigan during Thursday's service. I remember Mary as a colleague of integrity, grace and devotion in the years we taught together. She also taught both of my children, who loved and admired her. They also send their sympathies. God Bless and my wishes for peace in the life of Mary's family and friends.

Mary was a wonderful person and outstanding teacher. She was incredibly calm, focused and dedicated to providing her students with the best educational experience. She always had a smile for her students and colleagues. It is so sad that she is leaving us so soon. God Speed Mary. See you on the other side.
