Maureen Killelea Obituary

Killelea, Maureen Linda (Nee Schwartz) Of Shorewood, WI, passed away after a brave fight with cancer on May 14, 2013, at age 70. Maureen was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Roger. She is survived by her two children, Annmarie (Shane) Nytes of Plymouth, WI and Daniel (Ginevra Clark) Killelea of Chicago, IL. Maureen will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Julia and Jackson Krueger, Sophya Nytes, and Regina and Roger M. Killelea. She is also survived by her brothers Phillip, Martin (Sherri), and Thomas Schwartz; sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many loving friends. Maureen was born on May 31, 1942 in Waukesha, WI to Donald and Edna (Bernau) Schwartz. She was raised in East Troy, WI and graduated from East Troy High school in 1960. Molly then moved to Shorewood, WI where she worked many years with Dr. Hrushka as a dental assistant. She left work to raise her occasionally contumacious children (who, despite their best efforts otherwise turned out OK). After having had enough of that, Molly took a job across the street at Thompson's Pharmacy. She worked there for over 20 years and finally retired, mainly because work was increasingly interfering with her lunch dates and trips with her grandchildren. Maureen was active at St. Robert's in Shorewood; among her favorite activities were crafts and decorating the church for holidays. She was a long-time devotee of the Packers (who occasionally made her happy) and Brewers (who continue to disappoint her). Her quiet Catholic faith and commitment to her community were inspirational, and her wit and patience the subject of legend. Maureen fought a brave fight to the end, sharing the company of close friends and family, and finding peace in her struggle. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, May 17 at St. Robert's Catholic Church in Shorewood. There was a visitation prior to the Mass. Interment followed at St. Peter's Cemetery in East Troy, WI. Memorials may be made to St. Robert's Parish, 4019 N. Farwell Ave., Shorewood, WI 53211. Maureen's family would like to express their gratitude to the many wonderful friends who offered such appreciated support to the family during the difficult past few months. The kind words and prayers were always felt. Additionally, many thanks to Plymouth Care Center and Sharon Richardson Hospice for their diligent and loving care.
