Maxine F. Gvora

Gvora, Maxine F. (Nee Berg), Peacefully passed on Sunday, March 26, 2017 with her family by her side. Age 87, cherished wife of Joe Gvora, honestly a true love story of 61 years of dedication, devotion and passion. Dear mother of Anne (Del) Emmons, Thomas (Ellen) Gvora, and Mary Riemer (Gvora). Loving grandmother and "Best Friend" to Melissa (Ricky) Barbour, Joe, Ed, and Esther Gvora and Logan and Taylor Riemer. Proud great grandmother to Alexa, Hailey and Grayson Barbour. Proceeded in death by her three sisters, Sister Frances Mary, Patricia (Joseph) Reinartz and Rosemary (Ferdy) Ertl. Maxine was born on August 14, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI. Attended Messmer High School. Met her husband Joe and their "Love Story" began. They moved to Wauwatosa where they raised their three children and have been life-long residents. She worked at John's Sandwich Shop and was a community staple where she formed friendships that lasted her lifetime. Maxine loved life, laughter and her family that was "Everything" to her. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 1 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 12130 W. Center Street, Milwaukee, WI 53222 from 10:30AM until the time of funeral service at 11:30AM. The family expresses their gratitude for excellent and compassionate care provided by the Medical team at Community Memorial Hospital. A very special thanks to her "amazing" cardiologist Dr. Sarah Thordsen, MD who created a special bond with Maxine through her final journey.
