The entire Harmon family are what families should be about, and Merle being the head of that family was an awesome person who loved so much. I will miss Merle and our many conversations, I have been blessed to have known him. I know we will meet again!

My sincere condolences to Jeannette and Merle's family.
When my husband, Bruce, died, Merle could not make it to the service, but made a special trip to Kansas City to see me and visit, a gesture that was very special to me.
Over the weekend during the Braves' broadcast the announcers were talking about Harry Kalas's passing and said that another passing had maybe been lost in all the talk of Harry. Merle Harmon, they said, defined the term "gentleman" and were very complimentary, as they should be. People could learn much from Merle, and not just about sports, but about how to treat people.
He will be missed.

Three cheers for Merle Harmon and all of his family. What great memories for me growing up in Brookfield in the 1970's and being exposed to his family and his personal professionalism. Merle was a man who didn't squander the natural gifts that were bestowed upon him. That is a measure of a man, and Merle Harmon measured very highly indeed. Hip Hip Hooray for Merle Harmon and his memory. Great men are ALWAYS missed, and so will he be so missed.

It says alot that when you hear a person's name after a number of years that you can immediately hear that voice in your mind. He was a great announcer, and from what I hear, all around person. May God grant you comfort in all the memories.
