Milton C. "Bud" Schroeder

Schroeder, Milton C. "Bud" Age 83, died peacefully at Sunrise Cottages of Rochester, MN, on Tuesday, December 17, 2009, where he had been living for the past three years. He was the father of Jeff (Sandy) Schroeder, of Pine Island, MN. Milton was born in Milwaukee, WI, on August 11, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy from September, 1944 until June, 1946. After his discharge he married Ruth Ackermann on January 25, 1947. They remained married until her death in August of 2004. He worked for Nordberg (Rexford) manufacturing all of his life as a machinist and supervisor, until his retirement in 1986. Milton was very active in scouting and as a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Milwaukee. He also volunteered at the VA Hospital for many years during his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He cherished the time spent with his family and was especially fond of his two granddaughters. Milton is survived by his son Jeff (Sandy) Schroeder, granddaughter Shannon (Eric) Stuwe, granddaughter Rebecca Schroeder, great-grandchildren Chance, Sierra and Lane Stuwe, sister Ruth Skonieczny, brother Elwood (Gerry) Schroeder, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will take place on Tue., Dec. 29, from 5-8:30PM, at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Wed., Dec. 30, at 10AM at the Funeral Home. Interment Arlington Park Cemetery.
