Oscar Kirsten Obituary

Kirsten, Oscar Richard Oscar Richard Kirsten passed away peacefully on May 3 at age 95. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Audrey (nee Kopperud) after 69 years of marriage. Loving father of Sharyn (Vaughn) Dzik, Judy (John) Halbur, and Janet Hazelberg. Proud "G-pa" of Shawn Dzik, Lisa (Gus) Leinfelder, Shannon Dzik, Shelly Burr (Brian), Sarah (Corey) Kreuser, and Alyssa Hudson. Great grandfather to Brandon, Brady, Chanel, Ryan, Asher, Cierra, and Liam. He was also preceded in death by his cherished brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gloria Kirsten, his sister and brother-in-law Bernice and Bob Zimmerman, and his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Pete Griswold. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He was proud of his family and always talked about what a great life he lived. He worked hard to earn his degree in Bookkeeping at Spencerian College. He enjoyed a long run in the family business of Doelger & Kirsten. He loved playing Sheepshead, going to the Wolf River, fishing and hunting - and loved cheering on the Brewers, Bucks, Badgers and Packers. He found joy in the simple things in life and never complained. He loved to make people smile and laugh. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his perpetual, upbeat outlook on life. Special thanks to Deb Hudson and Chelsea Van Dusen for all their help and caring. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 14, between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. at Church and Chapel, 7626 W. Greenfield Ave, West Allis. Interment will be private.
