Paul lived down the hall from me in Whelan dorms on campus at LMU. We used to hang out and have lots of fun together, he was a great friend whom I will always remember.

My Dearest Andy, Jan, and Family:

Life has a way to test the steel that was used to forge you. In your case, I do believe that the Forge that created you Andy, has been long destroyed. I have known very few persons in my life with all the attributes and generosity that you have.

Our prayers are with all of you so God with this test also gives you the strength and courage that you need.

You are in our prayers.

With gratitude, love and admiration,

Hugo and Gloria Cardona

Dear Fleckenstein Family. Memories I have of Paul will never fade, he still makes me smile and always will. I am sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers.

May 10, 2011

Dear Andy, my condolences to you and your family in this hour. Death is an untimely visitor that brings much pain and sorrow; and in my years as a pastor I have witnessed the depth of that pain and sorrow when parents have to bury their children. Words spoken at this time however sincere are inadequate; however, it is in these times that our faith looks up to the TRUE SOURCE of our hope and strength. Know that you are in my prayers and may the God of all comfort will bring peace to your hearts. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you from our Neighborhood House children

May 10, 2011

Dear Fleckenstein Family,
On behalf of all the children, families, staff and Board of Directors at Neighborhood House, we extend our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Paul. He was a wonderful and wonderfully generous man who, together with his family and the R.A. Stevens Family Foundation, helped our agency tremendously. He was a loyal supporter of our outdoor and environmental program and helped us to reach thousands of Milwaukee's poorest, most at-risk children. His legacy and that of the Fleckenstein family and the R.A. Stevens Family Foundation will live on in the important philanthropic work that he did to reach those children.

We cannot thank Paul and the Fleckenstin family enough for all you have done for us.

With appreciation and sympathy,

All of us at
Neighborhood House of Milwaukee

My sincere condolences to Paul's family and his many friends. He was a true friend to so many and especially to my son, Jay.
I met him only once but felt like I knew him through his friendship with Jay. He was a very caring and loving friend.
Three of our grandchildren visited Jay in FL and had the pleasure of meeting Paul and spending time on his boat and send their sympathy,as well.
MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY and bring comfort and healing to all of you!
Our love & prayers will continue!

I knew Paul since the summer of '05. Paul was the most amazing man I have ever had the honor of knowing. We had so much fun working on projects together from spraying weeds at Prarrie Springs to washing NEREUS, and then talking about life for countless hours. Paul was a man without pretense. Paul was my freind and I will miss him dearly.

Dear Mr. Fleckenstein and Ms. Stevens,
We have never met but Paul used to speak so fondly of both of you and the rest of his family. I know how much he enjoyed the phone calls home. He very much looked forward to spending the summers in Wisconsin, closer to his family. I think he was happiest when he was there. I am so sorry for your loss. Paul was a good friend. All of his friends who knew him from Miami are going to miss him terribly. His good nature and wit frequently made us laugh, but we could also depend upon him when we needed someone to listen or provide the good advice that you can only get from a friend. Paul was a good person with a big heart. I will keep Paul and both of you in my prayers.
