Phyllis Sokol

Sokol, Phyllis Sept. 22, 1905 - July 24, 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on August 2, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in McMinnville, Oregon for Phyllis Sokol who died July 24, 2007 in McMinnville in her 102nd year. Born Phyllis Feingold, September 22, 1905, in Chicago, she was a violinist who had an active career with the Chicago Women's Symphony and also led a girl's band when she married Gustave Sokol in 1930. They settled in Milwaukee, WI and she gave up her career to raise her children. In 1980 they moved to McMinnville, Oregon, to support their new family business, Sokol Blosser Winery. Survivors include her four children, Jerry Sokol, Dunlap, CA; Henry Sokol, Milwaukee, WI; Ronald Sokol, Puyricard, France; and Susan Sokol Blosser, Dundee, OR; and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
